INDUSTRIAL

Aside from the racing and cruising marine structures WCS has been at the forefront of innovative applications of composites in the industrial applications.  Included is the world’s first operation underwater tidal turbine by ORPC where laminate design and structural concepts for the twisted blades, end structures and composite drive shaft were provided. Additionally WCS has been working extensively with the US Army to modernize the current front line surgical shelters and recently saw the successful full scale load testing of an all composite expanding rigid unit.  Further work is continuing with a new generation of advanced composite structures.
